Frequently Asked Questions
As the volume of data in the healthcare industry is growing and diversifying, interoperability needs are increasing at a faster pace than the number of available solutions to meet them. If your organization is looking for an integration partner that can help you quickly blend data from multiple sources in different types and formats, quickly and cost-effectively, without requiring custom services, we should talk. We founded tafi with the ultimate goal of solving the interoperability challenge in healthcare, providing healthcare organizations, payers, and software/medical device vendors the opportunity to accelerate industry innovation.
We are big fans of Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) too, but we also recognize that it’s not a one-size-fits-all solution to every integration problem. There are many libraries to solve different types of associated issues but there are no silver bullets for every challenge that you’ll encounter. tafi believes that as a technology partner we have a lot to contribute to your customers’ successes. We meet you where you are, and don’t require you to alter your data to fit the solution you purchased.
Many existing clinical data integration platforms lack the ability to blend data from multiple sources in different types and formats, resulting in integration bottlenecks and hindered innovation. Here’s a key difference between us and others: tafi’s data model is set up to aggregate data from both clinical and non-clinical sources, regardless of format, under one platform. This allows insights from patient data to be gleaned quickly and easily, offering a true longitudinal view of a person.
Our team works with all kinds of patient data, so if you have a specific need that we don’t currently meet, we are able to incorporate it quickly into our robust model. Our approach makes it still much faster than other alternate options.
The tafi team thinks it’s great that these technology visionaries are now paying attention to healthcare, as it’s really going to help draw consumers into the conversation. In terms of clinical integration specifically, the industry as a whole is still a while off from having a safe, unified approach to aggregating data in real-time. Having these titans enter this space shines a huge spotlight on just how severe the healthcare data interoperability challenge is, and we hope that as a community we’ll continue to innovate this problem into extinction.
While tafi’s customers are great at solving big problems, and in many instances able to handle their own integration needs, they frequently run into cost- and resource-intensive issues when scaling to new partners. Our clinical integration platform was purposefully built to help organizations grow. Raw data from thousands of patient record elements can be automatically fed into the tafi platform and is then normalized and stored on a centralized governed data layer. This provides users with an easier way to test current compatibility and run algorithms, allowing for the ability to scale and accelerate healthcare innovation. Unlike custom services which are typically expensive and lack the ability to grow, tafi offers a modest pricing model and new sites can be turned on within the same day.
tafi is fully HIPAA-compliant for all data in transit and at rest and is encrypted end-to-end. We used our experts’ knowledge to build a transparent platform, with event registry and auditing options so you can clearly see firsthand how secure the data is. Our team also conducts penetration tests and stays current on all compliance areas.
